About Me
As a doula, my goal is to provide you with all of the information you need to make informed decisions, as well as provide reassurance, knowledge and expertise when it comes to how to prepare for birth. I will advocate for your desires, comfort and encourage you, and celebrate with you as you meet your baby. I will talk with you about birth until you stop me!
I accept a limited number of clients each month to ensure that I can give the best possible care to each one. In the rare event that I am unavailable to attend a birth, I have multiple other doulas in the area that I trust who are available to back me up if needed.
My husband and I and our three children have lived in the Reno/Truckee area since 2017. When I am not working, I’m usually in my kitchen, cooking food for my family and baking sourdough. With any spare time that I get I love to work on art projects, knit, and go running!
After the birth of my first child over ten years ago, a passion in my heart for mothers and babies began to grow. I have had three natural births myself, two in the hospital and one at a birth center under the care of a midwife. As the years went on, I found myself naturally filling the role of “doula” to the people in my life. I was attending their births, teaching them to baby wear, and helping to navigate breastfeeding in those early weeks. As I saw how much fear there was surrounding birth and postpartum, I felt I had to help these women. I wanted them to know that they had choices and that birth was not only safe, but awesome and beautiful! I began attending births as a doula in 2017, both in the hospital and home settings.
In 2019, I decided to pursue certification through DONA International. I feel so honored every time a family invites me into their birth story, and I am always in awe of women and their strength as they bring new life into this world. I still cry tears of joy at every birth! This work is a calling and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
