“I cannot recommend Madeline enough.  If you were to google the word “doula”, Madeline’s picture should come up, because she is the absolute definition of everything a doula should be.  She is soothing, she is encouraging, she is knowledgeable.  When I was afraid, she reassured me.  When I felt that I was doing poorly, she empowered me.  She made me feel so strong and so capable.  She made me appreciate my womanhood and my body more fully.  She reminded me, through every contraction, why I was doing what I was doing-to bring my baby earthside.  I could not imagine bringing my firstborn into this world without her support.  She is, simply put, THE person you want around during you labor & birth.”

Madeline exceeded all expectations as my doula. From day one she provided knowledge and recommendations for my dream natural birth. When the day came, I can honestly say I could not have done it without her. She gave me strength and knew exactly what I needed at the exact time. She was this ray of light letting me know I could do it and I was doing it! My experience was so special. I am so glad I had a natural birth with someone so experienced and knowledgeable. That moment of bringing my baby girl to my chest was worth it all! Don’t hesitate to hire the amazing Madeline, she is the best!

I had never even heard of the word “doula” when I got pregnant.  My other pregnant friends kept talking about their wonderful doula, Madeline, so naturally I was curious.  Madeline was kind enough to let me call her and ask all my ignorant questions of what a doula is and why I would want one.  When I got off the phone, I excitedly told my husband, “We’re getting a doula!” I had very little knowledge about birth so having Madeline as an experienced resource was priceless.  Throughout our prenatal visits, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to attempt a natural birth.  This was foreign to me as all of the women I grew up with had highly managed and medicated births.  Madeline would have supported any type of birth I wanted, but really empowered me to feel confident in my decision.  When I went into labor, she could tell what stage of labor I was in and helped me determine when I should go to the hospital.  It was perfect timing as I had my baby girl less than two hours after arriving at the hospital, au naturel!  Madeline can’t promise good outcomes, nobody can, but she ensures you feel supported every step of the way.  Thank you Madeline!

It was a true blessing to have Madeline as our doula.  With this being our first child, and with a decision to have a homebirth, there were so many unknowns and we had lots of questions.  Madeline was there for us throughout our journey as a calm, knowledgeable, encouraging presence.  She eased our anxieties and got us excited about the wonder and miracle of birth.  I loved our prenatal visits where Madeline was gracious to hear my every “what if?” and “I’m afraid this might happen.” She had so many insights and ideas to help with labor and delivery and taught my husband and I various techniques to assist with easing contractions.  During labor, she was right there by our sides with a caring steadfastness the entire time.  She gave hands-on assistance, words of encouragement, and remained constantly positive through the twelve plus hours that she was with us.  She stayed even after our midwives had departed to make sure that we felt prepared and confident to be left alone with our new baby girl.  Madeline’s genuine care for her clients and passion for birth shines through.  We would highly recommend her to anyone!”

“I had 2 children when I decided for my third pregnancy that I wanted to use a doula. My first birth was with lots of interventions, my second birth was all natural (that frankly caught me off guard with how quick it was & I felt wholly unprepared) and then I got pregnant with my third and realized that I wanted a natural birth experience with the help and support of a doula. Natural birth had been on my heart from my first pregnancy, but I just never thought I’d need a doula to see this desire through. Fast forward to making the decision to have Madeline at our birth with our third baby and I can say confidently it made all the difference. My husband is an excellent support, but what Madeline did was help to show him how to care for and encourage me. She taught him counter pressure techniques, gave him quick breaks during the long labor hours and above all she was another voice in the room both encouraging me and lovingly advocating for my desires. I’m forever grateful for the role that she played during my labor. She provided so much love in the room & we’ll always be able to share in the funny moment she caught my baby girl when I was too out of it to grab her after she came out!”

“Madeline was an integral part in giving me the birthing experience I wanted and I cannot thank her enough for it.  I knew I wanted to have an unmedicated birth but as a first time mom was scared of labor and the birthing process.  Madeline’s knowledge and expertise helped me to feel reassured that I could absolutely do it.  She was able to make me feel so sage and empowered in my body during labor.  Truly her presence was so calming and reassuring during labor and when I thought I couldn’t handle it anymore she was right there to encourage and support me and show me that I could do it.  Beyond just labor Madeline was there throughout my entire pregnancy, labor, and postpartum to answer any questions I may have had.  Which as a first time mom was a lot!  I cannot recommend Madeline enough!”

“I was really nervous about my first birth, but thank goodness I had Madeline to help me through everything. She continued to limit my nerves and make me feel confident in myself throughout my pregnancy. Her calm but reassuring presence was essential for me and she was always available to respond to my texts or any questions I had. As someone who does not enjoy hospital settings, I wanted to labor at my house as long as possible. Madeline continued to check on me throughout the day and then came over as soon as I was ready for her. She is the perfect balance of giving you plenty of space, but also absolutely being there for you when you need or want her to be. Because of Madeline, I was able to have the unmedicated birth that I really wanted. I don’t think I could’ve done it without her. She provided endless words of encouragement and hip squeezes that I couldn’t get through contractions without. In moments when I doubted myself, Madeline reminded me that I could absolutely do it. She’s also had 3 unmedicated births of her own, which really helped encourage me. If you’re considering a doula for your birth, look no further than Madeline. My husband and I both agree that it was the best choice we could’ve made for the birth of our first baby!
